Institute of Medical Intelligence and XR aims to advance the frontier of artificial intelligence and extended reality in medical and healthcare applications, making precision medicine a reality in next-generation healthcare. It was established in 2023 and led by Professor Pheng Ann Heng, a professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The research team consists of researchers from more than ten top universities and research institutions, including The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
