Abstract: |
The integration of generative Al (GenAl) into the design process has opened up new avenues for creativity and innovation. However, the lack of explainability and control in end-to-end approaches has limited its application in real-world scenarios. in this talk, I will present the efforts undertaken by the HKUST-CIVAL group to address this challenge, including 1) intent-aware fine-tuning,which ensures alignment with desired design attributes, 2) design pipeline incorporation to seamlessly integrate design workflows with GenAl pipelines, and 3) embedding-based alignment, enabling visual probing and alignment of multi-modal embeddings. By incorporating these techniques, we aim to enhance creative control, provide explanations, and facilitate the practical application of GenAl in design contexts. |
