The world is faced with an ageing i brings about increasing threat for accessibility and quality of medical services.Technoloaicalinnovations address the forthcoming challenges and hold unprecedented opportunities to transform the healthcare industry. Recent rapid advancements in Al and robotics have made the domain of medical applications highly interdisciplinary, where clinicians take advantages of computers, sensors and robots to perform medical diagnosis and interventions with more efficiency and precision.Al Copilot,together with its authorized cognitive assistance, intelligent data analytics, and automation, is envisaged to be an effective tool to facilitate clinical workflow in numerous known or unknown ways. in this talk, I will present our research and developments in medical image analysis and robotic surgical intelligence as a demonstration for one step forward such AI CoPilot in medical applications. My talk will cover novel methodologies for addressing technical challenges from medical data, as well as a few use cases with specific system integrations through long-term joint effort with clinical collaborators. i will also share experiences and pitfalls in conducting interdisciplinary research. |

Prof. Qi Dou is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is also an affiliated membor with institute of Medical Intelligence and XR,T Stone Robotics Institute,Multi-scale Medical Robotics Centre, and Hong Kong Centre for Logistics Robotics. Her research interest lies in the interdisciplinary area of Al and robotics for healthcare applications with expertise in medical image analysis and surgical robotics towards the goal of advancing disease diagnosis and intervention via machine intelligence. in this area, she has published over a hundred papers with Google Scholar Citations 27k+,H- index 68, and a number of distinguished Best Paper Awards.She received IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biclogy Society (EMBS) Early Career Achievement Award 2023 and China NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund(Hong Kong & Macau).She served as Program Co-Chair of the major conferences of MICCAI 2024, IPCAI 2023,MICCAI 2022,MIDL 2021, and Associate Editor of top journals including Medical Image Analysis and IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging. |
